Halloween Party

I am sure it is early to start thinking about Halloween, but is anyone interested in organizing a St. Thomas Halloween party? Costumes, trick or treating, pumpkin carving (if we can find pumpkins!), etc.?

This year Halloween fall on Monday, October 31st. Perhaps we could plan the event for Saturday the 29th or Sunday the 30th. We could have one large family event where everyone is welcome to dress up in a costume, share food potluck style and have activities like pumpkin carving, bobbing for apples, sharing (adult only) witches brew, and letting the kids fill their goodie bags with candy or we could just do something low key for the kids.

Please let me know what your thoughts are and I'm sure we can get something fun together.

Book Club - all welcome

Hello everyone.

The first book is "Please look after mother" by Kyung-Sook Shin.
They have it at the bookstore in Takashimaya ( = a heaven to readers)
The book club will met once a month.  
Every third meeting will be in the evening, the others will take place during the day.
Next time we´ll meet the 3 of october at a Korean restaurant (since the book we read take place in South Korea) 

After that the list is so far like this:

More dates will be set as we go.
 The book chosen can be short stories ore a novel.

We talked about that it is fun to read authors from Asia ore from your country 

( Turky, Australia, England,USA, Norway, Malaysia are countries so far represented in this book club)

Exercise Class

Hello Neighbors,

I have had a terrific response from those of you that are interested in taking a group exercise class here at St. Thomas. I met with Sandro Ravera last evening and he thought that the gym and/or multipurpose rooms were adequate to teach a class in. His background is in Pilates and TRX. He is available Monday, Thursday or Friday afternoons between 2-5pm. Please let me know what day and time you prefer and I will get a consensus on the most convenient time slot. His rate is $150 per hour and that would clearly be an affordable expense split between several of us. Once I hear back from everyone about their preferred date, I will arrange a paid trial class and we can go from there. Thanks!

Meet and Greet Coffee Morning

Tabitha project

In August I am doing a charitable house building project.  A few people cancelled at the last minute and there are some places open.  The organisation is called Tabitha.  If you are interested in knowing more about it, please send me an email with your questions.  The dates are 17-21 August.  The cost is $700 plus your airfare.  Hotel, food and transportation included.  It is hard labour and very rewarding.  We are building houses in the most needy villages in Cambodia near Phnom Penh.  Everyone I spoke to who has done it says it's an amazing experience.

Hi all,
So looks like it will be a great gathering this coming Friday.
I will be there and start the fire around 5:30. I think everyone just bring their own portion of meat and we will cook our own meat, fish vege ect. Please do not bring too much as we all have other stuff to share as well.

MEGA FLEA MARKET 4

Hi Folks, 

If you love shopping at flea markets, you should check out the Mega Flea Market 4 at the Singapore Expo this weekend. Starting on Friday, you will get to shop and pick at over 200 stalls indoor at the fully air-conditioned Hall 4B of the Singapore Expo.

You will find stuffs such as fashion clothings, novelty toys, vintage items and probably something for every flea market hunters.
Oh and there will be food stalls too and a snack area for shoppers to rest and relax.
And the fun of Flea Market is the negotiating of the selling price, of course … so do remember to negotiate, ok?
